I hope you have missed our posts. I've missed the opportunity to share images with you through this website. Part of what I've been doing is getting used to two new cameras. The first adventure is a new (to me) Nikon D810, a digital camera which has been converted to capture image from reflected infrared light. I have wanted to explore this niche for the last ten years or so. It's different! How, you ask? The chip sees and responds to light very differently from other types of digital cameras I've been using for the last 20-25 years. Beyond the familiar challenges of making images conventionally, I've been learning how to anticipate how the camera will respond. It's a challenge but it's good for an old guy to have a challenge like this. Stand by; it will be fun.
I have several galleries of new work recently posted and I promise I will be posting a lot more in the near future. I am also taking on the task of reorganizing this site, and hope to produce a new look in the next few months. If anyone wants to play, give me a call. Otherwise send four leaf clovers.
So what's new? Under the menu choice Portfolios two new galleries appear. WAVES FROM ERIN shows the power of the Atlantic as waves from the passing Hurricane Erin pound the rocky shore of Schoodic Point. Hundreds of people enjoyed the sunny day and the show put on by Mother Nature. Check out the gallery. Another gallery, SHINY CARS, was a hoot to photograph. I think I lost 50 plus years in age looking at muscle cars of the 1960s and '70s at a car show in Hermon. Color and chrome, light, shadow, lines and weird shapes made for great subjects. I hope you enjoy.
Let me know what you think. The photo adventure continues!
